It doesn't tell us anything that we didn't already know, and the artwork was fairly generic. Holden disobeys an order to fire on a ship, gets into a fight with a superior officer, gets discharged. All in all, they're much better than the usual TV tie-in comic book fare, and this collection is definitely worth checking out if you're a fan of The Expanse. I’d read 100 more issues of Miller going around catching bad guys and being morally ambiguous on Ceres. The stories are a little uneven, quality wise, but the Naomi, Amos, and Miller issues are very good. Corey (Ty Franck and Daniel Abraham), the writers of The Expanse book series and the television adaptation, created these backstories, but the nitty gritty writing is done by Hallie Lambert and Georgia Lee, two more writers from the show. They are combined in this collection with a new fifth issue covering Detective Miller's backstory before the events of The Expanse, and this is the only physical release of these issues. The first four of these were originally released as individual digital comics. Each issue collected here covers a backstory for an individual main character on the show. Granted, there isn't much difference between the two, but they are growing further apart as the show continues to develop the books to series, and I'm starting to make an effort to keep them separate in my head. First things first, these stories follow The Expanse television series continuity and not necessarily the book series continuity. “I felt consulted with and referred back to at all times,” she said. She says has a great relationship with Me Before You’s director Thea Sharrock. “There was a lot of horror stories about writers and Hollywood going around at the time.” This production was a collaboration, a “happy ship.” She alludes to these cases in a hushed tone. Moyes says Me Before You was not like a 50 Shades or a Mary Poppins. Travers, the length Walt Disney went to woo her, and in the end, how it still may not have been enough for her. Banks chronicled the particularities of P.L. James clashed with 50 Shades of Grey director Sam Taylor-Johnson, who she thought wasn’t staying true to the heart (or erm, loins) of her X-rated novel. There are famous examples of when it doesn’t work. But there’s a second question that most people don’t think about: is this going to live up to the author’s expectations? There’s a common saying that the book is always better than the movie, that there’s no way it can live up to readers’ expectations. “I think she is just as valid a character as he is.” The one that I felt really strongly about is that Louisa should not be saved by Will anymore than he should be saved by her,” she said. Did that part of her feel any guilt about cutting the assault? I bring up her earlier comment, that she wants her books to be feminist. He apparently was even involved in the fringes of the Stauffenberg plot to assassinate Hitler. They offered him a seat at the Reichstag, to head the German Literary Dept, and to go on Goebbels’ radio. Perhaps most surprisingly, and intriguingly, is that CPT Junger was a critic of Hitler and refused to accept many positions offered to him by the National Socialists. This book is enlightening and especially interesting because it reveals the perspective of the nationalist German – and helps us understand a little better, as modern Americans, the motivation and thoughts of the Soldiers our country fought against. Interestingly, and somewhat unsurprisingly, he later served as a Captain for Germany in WWII – a time period which this book does not cover. This book, published in 1920 and translated in 1929, is an account of his experiences during that war. The author of this book – Ernst Junger, was a highly decorated and competent Prussian officer who fought in WWI. Recommendation: For those who want to better understand the German Soldiers of WWI and WWII “The Storm of Steel” by Ernst Junger, Original 1929 Translation – Book Review Throughout the book, Rosie grows from a headstrong, stubborn child into an intelligent and courageous young woman. There Katriona and her aunt (affectionately known as Aunt) raise the princess as an ordinary village maiden, naming her Rosie after the last of the princess' twenty-one names. The cursed princess is rescued on her name-day and secretly taken away by a young fairy, Katriona, to her village, a town called Foggy Bottom, located in the damp and swampy section of the country known as The Gig. In McKinley's version of the classic fairy tale, Sleeping Beauty, a wicked fairy named Pernicia appears on the princess' name-day and places a curse on the baby, claiming that the child will, on her 21st birthday, prick her finger on a spindle and fall into deathly sleep. Spindle's End is a retelling of Sleeping Beauty by author Robin McKinley, published in 2000. The plot’s incorporation of a little-known pre-World War I constitutional crisis, the Suffragette movement (which neatly fits in with the women’s movement of the seventies), and well-paced twists makes Past Caring an entertaining page-turner. This reprint of Goddard’s debut novel unfolds in the early part of the twentieth century and late seventies and has maintained a graceful sense of both eras. Radford’s own blunders will unfold on this journey as he investigates Strafford’s past in this blended mix of politics, romance and historical thriller. Martin Radford is a floundering, unemployed historian with a dim future who jumps at the chance to research the memoirs of Edwin Strafford, a young Edwardian cabinet minister and contemporary of Churchill and Lloyd George with a promising career that went mysteriously astray. 16: Who was the escaped prisoner?
